Even when you are not enjoying the beach you will hear its call as the waves constantly lap the shore. Walk around Golden Beach and Paradise Beach (starting at your front door) and be among Kangaroos, Emus, Echidnas, Wombats and beautiful wild flowers whilst admiring the prolific bird life including crimson and eastern Rosellas, Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos, Blue Wrens, Eastern Spine Bill and many other Honey-Eaters.
Golden Beach is the ideal launching location to enjoy a Gippsland Lakes region holiday.

McLennan's Strait is a long channel of water that connects Lake Wellington to Lake Victoria. From your boat, or just enjoying a picnic on-shore there are extensive wetlands on the northern side of the straits that are important bird habitats so important that they are listed as “Wetlands of International Importance”.
Six Kilometres from Golden Beach Township lays The Trinculo Shipwreck. The barque Trinculo weighed 318 tons and was built 1858 measuring 138.1 feet. It was forced ashore by a gale in 1879. The ship struck a sandbar 30 metres from shore and slewed broadside to the beach. Luckily all on board survived after the heroic efforts of the crew. Also surviving to this day is the wreck which is best seen after king tides have removed lots of sand!

From the owners:
The proud owners of this coastal hideaway in the wonderful, and largely undiscovered town of Golden Beach - 45km of beach in both directions!
No booking fees, no commissions, no unwanted surprises!
We really love this holiday accommodation property because it allows us to interact with people at a really positive time for them - escaping their normal life with family or friends to relax!
We are well traveled ourselves and have done so as a couple, then as a family with young children... and now with older kids and their friends in tow. We know what it’s like to enjoy great accommodation and how it forms the central part of a great holiday.
We do our best to make each of our 3 offerings as good as we possibly can and are very particular about cleaning. the presentation of our accommodation and pride ourselves on owning a property that we would be pleased to rent.
The ultimate measure for us is that each time we walk in we think - 'Yes'... we would be very happy if we'd booked this ourselves!

Local Weather
Gippsland Coast/Great Ocean Road weather comparison:
Now, don’t get us wrong, we think Apollo Bay is a lovely place BUT if we were choosing a VIC coastal winter escape (25 minutes-drive difference)…compare these weather facts:
Apollo Bay - 1053mm annual rainfall :: Golden Beach - 611mm
Apollo Bay - 162.5 rainy days per year :: Golden Beach - 142
Golden Beach also enjoys higher average year round temperatures than Apollo Bay.
We know, it’s unfair… dryer, sunnier, warmer. Sorry Apollo Bay! Golden Beach may be your poor cousin... but it's the hot one.
PS – all Golden Beach stats also beat Melbourne CBD so escape to sunny Golden Beach!
